O QUE FOI APRESENTADO
Finalidade da operação
The GOAL OF THIS PROJECT is the development of novel multifunctional polymer meta-biomaterial implants for women's prolapse reconstructive surgery. The MAIN SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES are: 1. SO1: Explore and optimize novel auxetic mesh implant structures designed, for enhanced functionality, and evaluate their deformation mechanism and mechanical properties by finite element modelling and simulation studies 2. SO2: Fabricate, by additive manufacturing ( melt electrospinning and/or FDM ) novel biodegradable multifunctional implant meshes with auxeticity and drug release capabilities, ready for in vitro testing, based on quantitative and qualitative parameters, namely meta-biomaterial chemical composition, constitutive equations parameters, geometry patterns; mechanical properties; 3. SO3 :…

SO3 : Develop predictive models of implant degradation and methods for accurate prediction of degradation profiles in vitro 4. SO4: Evaluate functional characteristics beyond biocompatibility, such as biodegradability, auxeticity and drug release, without affecting their intrinsic properties or adversely affecting the host response. 5. SO5 : Study in vitro and in vivo the release kinetics of the drug release and its effect on the growth/proliferation and adhesion of bacteria and its rate of clearance/inhibition, to optimize antibiotic/anti-inflammatory selection.
