We are an independent civic observatory, with no advertising and no commercial interest. We read what the Portuguese state publishes and explain, in plain words, what it decided, where the money goes and what can be checked.
WHY
Why this site exists
Much of the information that lets you hold public money and public decisions to account is already published. The trouble is elsewhere: it is scattered across dozens of sites, in awkward formats, and it leaves the news in two days. We bring it into one place, with the source always one click away.
HOW
One sentence, one passage
We only claim what we can show you in the source. When a document does not answer a question, we say it does not answer, rather than filling the gap with interpretation.
The observatory answers, not named individuals. We stay anonymous by choice, so that scrutiny of public administration never depends on who carries it out. What you can check is the work: the method we follow, the sources we use, how far each one reaches and the public record of corrections.
The corrections form takes your note without an account and without a name. Name the page and the sentence, and say what should stand there instead. The address for a reply is optional.
